Practical information

For Students and Guardians

Below you will find information for students and guardians.

Information

InfoMentor

InfoMentor is the school’s administration system and is used to facilitate communication between the school and guardians. To log in, BankID is required as a secure way to verify your identity.

In InfoMentor, you can report absences, view the timetable and calendar, access plans and assignments, and follow assessments and documentation relating to the student’s development.

A sickness absence must be reported each day the student is absent. Students who are minors cannot report their own sickness absence.

The InfoMentor Hub app can be downloaded free of charge from your app store.

Term Dates

Here you will find information about term dates and holidays. We recommend that trips and other activities be planned outside school hours to minimise disruption to teaching.

Examples of content that can be updated before each school year:
Start of term, parent-teacher conferences, autumn break, winter break, Easter break, holiday days and the end of the school year.

Please replace this section with the current term dates for the coming school year once they have been confirmed.

Leisure-Time Centre

Our leisure-time centre complements school teaching and provides security, learning and joy. We offer children meaningful, stimulating and developmental time after school where play, social interaction and physical activity are given space.

We work to maintain a good balance between free and structured play and encourage activities both in the schoolyard and in the local area together with staff.

Application: Places in the leisure-time centre are offered for children aged 6–9, and the leisure club for children aged 10–13.

Fee: The leisure-time centre and leisure club are voluntary services, and guardians therefore pay a monthly fee.

Notice: The notice period is one month, and the fee is payable during the notice period.

Hours:
Morning care: 07:35–08:30
Afternoon care: 13:30–17:00

Admission Queue Rules

We apply clear admission queue rules to ensure that all students are treated equally in accordance with the current rules for selection.

Sibling priority: Children with siblings attending the same school may be offered priority, subject to available places.

Geographical proximity: Proximity may be taken into account in accordance with current rules.

Application date: We use a straight queue, where place in the queue is based on the application date within the relevant age group.

Special quota: Newly arrived students may in some cases be admitted through a special quota in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act.

School Bus

Where possible, we offer school bus service to areas where we have many students. To be offered a place on the school bus, the following criteria must be met:

  • The student is in preschool class to Year 5.
  • The student can get to a stop on the bus route.
  • We can ensure the safety of all students on the school bus.
  • The student follows the bus rules.
  • The guardian is responsible for ensuring that the student arrives at and leaves the stop on time.
  • The student is enrolled in the leisure-time centre, since the buses arrive and depart during leisure-time centre hours.

Mother Tongue Instruction

We have our own teachers in several mother tongue languages, and they also work as study guidance teachers. In some languages, with fewer students, we hire teachers from a mother tongue education provider.

Complaints Procedure

At SIA School, it is important to us that you are satisfied with the school. We have clear procedures that we follow to carry out our work in the best possible way. Despite this, situations may arise that you wish to complain about. We therefore have a procedure in place so that complaints can be addressed promptly.

Step 1

Contact the mentor
A student or guardian who wishes to submit a complaint should first contact the student’s mentor. The mentor investigates the complaint and provides feedback on the measures to be taken.

Step 2

Contact the assistant principal
If the mentor does not handle the complaint in a way you are satisfied with, you should contact the assistant principal. The assistant principal investigates the complaint and provides feedback on the measures to be taken.

Step 3

Contact the principal
If you are still not satisfied with how your complaint is being handled, contact the principal, Ali Olad, ali.olad@mubarak.se.

Step 4

Contact the Head of School
If you believe that the principal is still not taking sufficient action, you should contact the Head of School, Abdirahim Adam, abdirahim.adam@mubarak.se.

For suggestions on how we can further develop the school, where the matter is not a specific complaint, we recommend sharing them in the surveys that are carried out regularly, at parent meetings or through the student council. We are a development-focused organisation and welcome active participation in our quality work.
